- From Sharon: This is a brief statement on the name change. Susan and Robert, is there any additional information that you would like to add/change? The NSDL outreach and communications group has recommended that the NSDL strand maps interface be renamed from the NSDL Concept Maps to the NSDL Science Literacy Maps. 'Concept maps' is a misnomer as it usually refers to the mapping of very specific one-two word concepts. The group felt that that 'Science Literacy Maps' would give better credit to the AAAS Atlas of Science Literacy and would be more quickly understood by educators and NSDL website visitors than the term 'strand maps'.
