These files are the ncdiag diag output files from GMAO, with the model profiles added. Any QC on the model fields within the GSI setup routines (such as corrections for strong winds, etc) is not included. All variables are named exactly as they are in the corresponding GSI setup routines (the names are not consistent between routines, so the variable are not consistently named across the files either)

These files were created with GSI branch (in gerrit/git) csd-ioda_nc4_amsu_conv .
The GSI will write out a separate diag file on each task. The tar ball above also includes nc_diag_cat.x, which can be used to cat them into a single file (see nc_diag_cat.sh for usage).
