Friday, August 11.  Shane arrived at 8:45 AM.  Started 20-minute laser warm up at 8:50.  First scans at 9:11 AM PDT.   Aerosol backscatter intensity about the same as when shut down last night.

Convective clouds around this morning.   Eastern panorama at 9:23 AM PDT:

This afternoon I noticed that we are detecting hard target reflections off the linear array and the tall tower occasionally.   In the image on the left, the white dots mark the locations of the sonic anemometers.  The bright pixels directly on top of the white dots results from a hard target reflection.   In the image on the right, you can see a similar bright radial mark to the north and east of the linear array in the location of the tall tower.  Because the laser pulses do not necessarily fall in the same location on each scan, and are separated by order 10 m at this range, sometimes we hit the towers and sometimes we don't.

Shut system down remotely from hotel at about 12:30 AM PDT on August 12 (07:31 UTC on August 12).
