Saturday August 5. Shane arrived at site around 9:45 AM PDT with first REAL scans at 10:13 AM (17:13 UTC).
Totally cloud-free conditions upon arrival in the morning, but substantial low level haze or smoke in the experimental area. (Difficult to see in the photo below, but mountains far to the south were partially obscured.)
Just a few cumulus clouds over terrain far to the north by late morning.
Below is an example of gust structures advecting across the scan region from the SW.
