4.1.CCSM Data Access
The CCSM Data Access and use policy currently exists at
http://www.cgd.ucar.edu/csm/experiments/datapolicy.html and it states:
The CCSM Scientific Steering Committee recognizes the necessity for
a CCSM data management strategy to address both program and
individual Principal Investigator needs. Open access to the CCSM
data products is essential for validating model results and
promoting scientific discovery in the climate research field. The
CCSM project is committed to the timely submission and sharing of
all data collected in CCSM research activities.
The CCSM Data Access and use policy is now almost three years old and
needs to be revised to reflect the current CCSM project environment
and practices.
Recommendation:
The current CCSM data access policy should be examined and updated
as soon as possible.
