4.6 Long-term Stewardship of CCSM Data
The data products from CCSM runs are the result of a large development and
production investment. Accordingly, care must be taken to preserve
significant CCSM control and simulation data sets from being lost.
Possible Supporting Policy:
CCSM data at NCAR will be retained under the guidelines of the data
retention policy above. Any deviations from this policy must be approved
by the SSC. Data from CCSM run made offsite in collaboration with CCSM
working groups often requires considerable support from CCSM personnel. Any
sites holding CCSM control or simulation output should give the CCSM SSC
the option of archiving this data at NCAR before this data is deleted.
