These are our guidelines for software installed locally on your Windows or macOS workstations. Note that all software installed on your system is subject to OIS guidelines. Software on your system may be removed, blocked, or updated without warning if necessary to comply with these guidelines.

Free Software

You may need to request administrator privileges for your workstation, but free applications can be installed as long as they are not a security concern. You should always inform IT staff before installing uncommon software.

Enterprise Licensed Software

Adobe Creative Cloud

Request for Adobe Creative Cloud can be made here:

https://operations.ucar.edu/forms/rfa

Overleaf

Richard Neale is currently maintaining Overleaf licenses for CGD. Email rneale@ucar.edu for information if you want the paid features of Overleaf.

Zoom

While CGD ISG was previously maintaining Zoom licenses, that task has been taken by UCAR. Please submit your request for Zoom accounts and licenses to help@ucar.edu.

Purchasing Software

Requests for purchasing licensed software should be sent to help@ucar.edu along with an account key that we can charge for the purchase. We can also request a quote on your behalf, if the pricing isn't readily available on the vendor's website. Most larger software vendors allow ISG to manage licenses on your behalf, but there may be some cases where we will need to meet in order to complete the purchase with a P-card.
