Starting a list for sites that we are mostly done with, to keep track of what we still need to do.

All sites:

  • Record trailer VIN or license
  • Record all sensor serial numbers
  • Take photos, at least of tower
  • Turn up bluetooth power on pi dsms (btrn -t 16 -b 5) then exit bluetooth
  • Disable wifi power downs on top DSM (crontab -e, then comment out (insert "#" in first column) the second line)
  • Add signage
  • Make a plan about collecting soil samples.

Base:

  • Set up ustar on ubiquiti network
  • Set up wifi through cradlepoint

WLEF tower:

  • Plug cable hole with plumbers putty

NW1:

  • Install 10m and 30m TRH probes.
  • Install 2m TRH probe.
  • Add NR01 when ready.  Boom is already in place. (nw1 already had a NR01?)
  • Pivot and raise tower

NW2:

  • Instrument tower
  • Add NR01, 15m bulgin, NR01 boom
  • Add pressure port
  • Add csat
  • Add bulgin cable for tipping bucket
  • Install mote and soils

NW3:

    CAUTION!!! Ubiquiti and NR01 will hit the ground with no mast support when lowered!!!!

  • Will have to wire Victron before getting power going at this site.  We now have parts to do this.
  • Add NR01 when ready.  Clamp is in place on mast.
  • Add fence post to support soil mote

NW4:

  • Add 2m TRH probe

NE1:

  • Pivot and raise tower

NE2:

  • Remove branches from path of the sonic head
  • Install 10m and 30m TRH probes
  • Install mote and soil sensors
  • Grounding (tower, correctly this time)
  • Bottom DSM grounding
  • Raise the tower
  • Fix TRH orientation (they're both not quite vertical upon raising)
  • Replace too-short guy wire with a new one
  • Investigate why top dsm is unresponsive
  • Check if ubiquiti link to WLEF tower works

NE3:

  • Pivot and raise tower
  • Install 2m TRH probe
  • Install soil sensors
  • ne3b: GPS "V" (no sat lock). Is it oriented optimally?
  • Add NR01

NE4:

  • Swap bulgin to 10m TRH to a 15m cable (Not doing)
  • Remove branches from path of tower so we can pivot it back to horizontal
  • Put NR01 in correct port
  • Figure out why CSAT/EC150 isn't working. Is it just in the wrong port?
  • Install TRH probes
  • Install mote and soil sensors
  • Install 2m TRH probe (old version)
  • Replace ground strap for guy wire with thicker cable
  • Replace ethernet cable and port on top DSM

SW1:

  • Pivot and raise tower (once we come up with 220V power)
  • Install TRH probes
  • Install mote and soil sensors
  • Set anchors and guy wires
  • Add ground rod
  • Replace flooded top dsm
  • Install 2m TRH probe
  • Add port caps to top dsm next time tower lowered

SW2:

  • Tension and re-level tower
  • Instrument tower
  • Add NR01 and 35m cable
  • Add longer (100ft+) ethernet cable
  • Install mote and soils
  • Add static safety line

SW3:

  • Install 2m TRH probe
  • Install mote and soils
  • sw3b: no GPS data, is it connected?

SW4:

  • Pivot and raise tower
  • Install 2m TRH probe
  • Install mote and soils
  • Diagnose low h2o and co2 values – perhaps needs cleaning?

SE2:

  • Install 2m TRH probe
  • Install mote and soil sensors
  • se2b: no GPS data, is it connected?

SE3:

  • Install ground rod and strap to DSM
  • Install TRH probes
  • Install mote and soil sensors
  • Replace ethernet cable to ubiquiti (the plastic tab that locks it in place is broken on one end)
  • Bolt job box to trailer (used guy wire and pad lock, key is in job box)
  • Add crosbys
  • Find key that opens rigid box
  • Install 2m TRH probe

SE4:

  • Add bulgin cable for nanobarometer
  • Add second USB backup since ubiquiti link doesn't work
  • Install TRH probe
  • Install mote and soil sensors
  • Add parsing Victron power monitor to config
  • Replace sock on EC150

SE5:

  • Instrument tower
  • Needs battery connectors (turned off until then)
  • Needs ground strap and stake (used anchor for stake)
  • Install mote and soils
  • Add NR01 when available

SE6:

  • Add job box (this is the other gooseneck without one)
  • Once job box in place, hook up batteries and power monitor and power up dsms
  • Install TRH probes
  • Install mote and soil sensors
  • Add spline ball (needs a u-bolt)
  • Before going vertical log into dsm, check data, set bluetooth power, ping ubiquiti
  • Strain relief power and ethernet to top dsm using cord (just cable tie now).
  • Install 2m TRH probe (old version)
  • Pivot and raise tower (220V power)
