To add a new page to the CommSci Wiki, or any other UCAR Wiki page

There are several ways to do this:

A) Create the new page first, then decide how people will find your new page:

  1. click on the "Add Page" icon at the upper right of your screen.
  2. Add content and "Save" your page
  3. Then add a link to your new page from the "home page" or some other appropriate location

B) Decide how people will find your new page, add a link to your "home page," and click on that link to create your new page

  1. Do not click on the "Add Page" icon at the upper right of your screen (unless you know what you're doing).
  2. Instead, decide how people will find your new page: what page do you want to link from? Go to that "home page" and click the Edit button at upper right.
  3. Type any text (or highlight any existing text) you wish to turn into a link to a new page (e.g., "My New Page")
  4. On the editing toolbar, click on the picture of the chain link (when you roll over the picture, "Insert/Edit Link" will appear)
  5. Type, or cut-and-paste the page title (e.g., "My New Page") into the "Link:" field.
  6. Save the "home page"
  7. Your new link will be in red - because your new page doesn't exist yet
  8. Click on the red link:  your new page will be created and you can begin adding content to it.
  9. Save the new page
