Google Outreach has granted UCAR 150 Google Earth Pro licenses for use in our work in support of UCAR and NCAR's scientific research.

As our liason with Google, I must maintain a list of licensees. Your
subscription to the Google Earth Pro service at http://notifier.ucar.edu is my record of your license. If you stop using Google Earth Pro, please unsubscribe from the list to free up a license seat.

Here are the instructions for installing the software and entering the
shared username and license key to activate the software.

If you do not have permissions to install software on your
workstation, submit a work request to your workstation support
sysadmin and ask them to install the software for you. Windows users
should consult with their sysadmins about whether Google Earth Pro can
be pushed to their workstation automatically. Some groups plan to use
this installation method for Windows workstations.

1. First, download Google Earth Pro. You will be asked to agree to the
terms. You have a choice of downloading 5.0 or the 5.1 beta. The beta
has been stable for me and adds the ability to auto-update itself, but
the choice is yours.

2. Install the software. (Ask your workstation support person to
install the software if you do not have permissions to do this.)

3. When you first open the software, you will be asked to provide your
username and license key. Do NOT provide your personal Google account
nor try to create one. In order for the free license key to work, you
will need to use the generic UCAR account I have set up. Here is the
information to enter into the license details screen.

Contribute to the Google Earth Showcase Gallery

Our free license will be re-evaluated every year based on our
contributions in Google Earth Pro content creation. Please consider
submitting your work to the Google Earth Outreach Showcase Gallery to
ensure that Outreach knows about our significant contributions. Send
your finished, relatively polished KMZ file to Phil at phils-showcase-advice@google.com
and where appropriate, he will personally give you any encouragement
on your finished layer.

Grantees receive full Pro Support, so you are welcome to use Google Support resources and contacts just as a paying customer would.
