Egg Drop or Comparable Event
Description and Benefits:
The Egg Drop event has been successful in past years in Boulder. The Egg Drop or another comparable event could be developed to draw school-aged students (and their families) to the Supercomputing Data Center for an afternoon.
The community and the school district would benefit by the drawing the kids into a scientific event and provide an opportunity to welcome the community to the NCAR facility.
UCAR/NCAR's role:
NCAR can draw on it's many years of coordinating this event to organize the Egg Drop or create a new event that would be more specific to the local community.
External roles:
Work with the school district to coordinate the event and possibly help with minimal costs.
Timeframe:
This idea could be implemented when the time is approrpriate.
