Joint Appointment Outreach
Description:
The current proposal for the supercomputing center includes joint appointments between NCAR and the Universities of Wyoming and Colorado. As these appointments are defined, there is an opportunity to include responsibilities for community outreach into some of the appointments.
Benefits:
Involve new engineers/ scientists in community outreach. Take advantage of local Wyoming staff to reach out to local schools.
UCAR/NCAR's role:
Initiate the conversation when negotiating the joint appointments. Set a formal recognition of community outreach efforts in place.
External roles:
Willingness to include E&O into the joint appointments.
Timeframe:
As negotiations begin.
Life Span:
As long as appointments are in place.
