Be a sponsor at the Wyoming State Science Fair
Description & Benefits:
The Wyoming State Science Fair is held at the University of Wyoming (UW) in Laramie, WY. Some of the sponsors in 2007 were: UW, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, Dept. of the Army, American Meteorological Society, local businesses and organizations. This would be a good way to show that UCAR/NCAR is vested in the Wyoming community.
UCAR/NCAR's role:
Talk with UW about how to be a sponsor and see if other opportunities are available (e.g., do they need volunteers, judges, etc). UCAR/NCAR staff could also volunteer to be mentors to the students in Cheyenne as they are developing their projects.
External roles:
UW hosts and organizes the science fair.
