Super Science Saturday
Description and Benefits:
NCAR sponsors Super Science Saturday every October in Boulder. This is an opportunity for students, teachers and families to participate in hands-on activities, take part in science workshops and particpate in many scientific education exhibits.
This could be introduced as an annual event at the new center to help the local and state community to better understand NCAR's mission and to learn more about the environment.
UCAR/NCAR's role:
NCAR and UOP would coordinate the introduction of Super Science Saturday and could potentially partner with the city or University of Wyoming.
Timeframe:
This idea could be implemented at an appropriate time.
Research Conducted:
This has been an extremely successful outreach event in Booulder. Apply the methods used to produce the Boulder event and adjust to meet the needs of the Wyoming community.
