The UCARConnect catalog is made up of information about high-quality online educational resources created by the UCAR community. Information comes from the databases and organizational knowledge of the various UCAR divisions and is organized into metadata records. This wiki is intended to explain this process so that you will know how to submit resource information to UCARConnect (whether it's a single resource or a collection of them), and how to use the system's metadata in downstream applications.

This wiki is intended to provide information on how to create and share metadata with UCARConnect. It complements, and often redirects to, the Developer APIs wiki.

For more information about the benefits of contributing your division's educational resources to the catalog, please see Participating in UCARConnect.

The wiki is organized into the following sections:

To learn more about the scope and aim of the catalog, please visit the Guiding documents and policies.

  • Metadata Formats: fact sheets on metadata formats used (lar, comm_anno, and comm_para)
  • Sharing Metadata: exactly how metadata can be made available for UCARConnect indexing
