In an effort to better serve our staff, Enterprise IT (EIT), NCAR Research IT (NRIT), and NCAR’s Computational and Information Systems Laboratory (CISL) are pleased to announce the creation of the organization’s first-ever truly united service desk to support IT, computational, and data services activities. This joint realignment of staff will be called the NCAR|UCAR Service Desk (NUSD); it will merge existing service desks, building upon last year’s Enterprise Service Desk realignment and helping fulfill the promise of that change.

Whom do I contact now if I need help?

With these changes, the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) and CISL’s Help Desk Team (HDT) will both cease to exist, replaced by NUSD. All existing email addresses, aliases, and URLs will be retained in this process, so you can still get help in the manner you are accustomed to. However, help.ucar.edu and help@ucar.edu should be your primary means of reaching the new NUSD. You can also now dial extension 2000 (303-497-2000) to reach the Service Desk.
