Jim Schiavone is performing an analysis of the massive Hurricane Sandy dataset, previously simulated by Mel Shapiro, Tom Galerneau, and Pete Johnsen and visualized with Alan Norton's help in VAPOR. Jim is particularly interested in the new details that were exhibited at the high (500m) resolution of the simulation, and determining if the higher resolution provided improved accuracy, comparing the simulation to the actual measurements during the hurricane. Jim has been using VAPOR in this analysis and has created many animations using the Sandy data.
Jim has completed a first draft/outline of his results and expects to finalize it in a document that will be submitted for publication early in 2016.
