• Scott: reviewing WRF RK method on bluefire
• Thomas N.: running various tests with OpenAD
  • Successfully ran simple advection case but this is probably not something for the mid-term
  • Ran MPAS solver but obtain various errors related to f95 linked lists and DTTs.
  • Coordinating with Jean at ANL on issue
• MPAS folks finalizing language and architecture decisions in September/October time frame
• Beau: Compiled, tested, and ran simple cases of OpenAD on ncar local machine

Action Items:

• Thomas: Evaluate 'recoding' of MPAS solver so it is amenable to OpenAD
• Thomas: Query ANL on robustness of C++ front end vs. f90
• Scott: Get test case from Xin
• Don: Circulate 4dVar test/benchmark harness
• Beau: Circulate 'baseline' reference for Scott to start with, i.e.
