Install a science kiosk in downtown Cheyenne. This kiosk should be on a main tourist route, preferably on a walking route. The kiosk would showcase science done at UCAR/NCAR, provide general weather/environmental education and supercomputing center tour information.
UCAR/NCAR would benefit from the extra publicity to a ever-changing tourist population while Wyoming could benefit from having an additional tourist destination. If installed prior to the opening of the facility, this could be a bridge to the local communities understanding of UCAR/NCAR's mission.
UCAR would provide the kiosk and the programming necessary to support it. It might be possible to share this cost with the city.
City of Cheyenne: Provide a viable location for the kiosk. Provide information within the city's tourism center pointing tourists to the kiosk. Add the kiosk to the tour maps.
This would be similar to the kiosk featured in the 29th Street mall in Boulder.
Contact Susan Foster for information on how the Boulder kiosk was developed.
