The LFM requires 50 minutes of simulation time to precondition the magnetosphere before solar wind conditions contained in the SW-DAT-SM data file are imposed on the magnetosphere. During this interval, no IMF is imposed on the magnetosphere and the solar wind velocity is 400km/s, density is 5.8 #/cc and sound speed is 35 km/s. These conditions help the magnetosphere take shape within the computational domain. MakeItSo will automatically configure a run to account for the 50 minute spinup interval.
