    Friday, September 1:  Start of another windy day.  Forecast is for high winds today, tonight, and tomorrow.  Below are GOES vis image from 10:22 AM PDT and 12 Z 500 mb chart.

    Winds picked up this morning as early as 8 AM.  Shane arrived around 10 AM.  Mohammad here.


    Visibilities reduced due to blowing dust.  The photo below was taken from the road to the landfill at 9:54 AM PDT.  It is looking to the SE and in the direction of the field site.

    Below: Checked late this morning (11:22 AM PDT) on the 2" turning mirror downstream of the Raman cell.   No noticeable increase in size of the inclusion.

    Booming backscatter signal today with lots of dust in air.   Below is screenshot of REAL LabVIEW display (1:58 PM PDT) with single shot returns being displayed.  Red is parallel and white is perpendicular polarization backscatter signals.
