Sunday, August 13.   This day started out overcast with occasional light rain reported by others and observed in town.

Shane started REAL warm up from hotel at 11:10 AM and arrived at site just a minute before first scans at 11:30 AM PDT.  Photo of the LabVIEW program that controls the REAL below at 11:43 AM PDT:

Not clear why Digitizer offset has gone back to zero.  But system seems to be performing well.

Today was probably the most boring day of the experiment for the REAL so far.  The air was very clear and the wind was light and variable.

The day however did conclude with thunderstorms in the area moving from east to west.  At 1:05 UTC on August 14 (6:05 PM on August 13), a gust front first appeared in the REAL data along the unfiltered lidar PPI images at 5 km range and moved in from the SE:

Here's the eastern panorama from 5:44 PM PDT (00:44 UTC on the August 14)

Rain fell mainly to the north of the field site.

Shane shut the system down remotely around 01:52 UTC on August 14 from the hotel.
