Model Interface (Steve Vahl)

  • StephenH has made good progress with getting skylab-atm-land with high resolution (million obs) working with the new OSDF container. Cycles are completing successfully, but results don't quite match up with ObsGroup case.
  • SteveV and Raji continue to work on UFO backlog, adding small enhancements, bug fixes and documentation.
  • Adding Open MP code to Vertical Interpolation operator and QC flags to be used in RTTOV TLAD operator.
  • A couple of more pR's merged that build individual components for the OSDF MPI Distribution work. These individual components all built and work, has started on higher level workflow of Distribution.
  • Fabio is developing a new Vader Recipe that produces geopotential height.
  • Shih-Wei wrote Vader documentation for some recipes he developed earlier.

ALGO (Nate)

  • Merged set of PRs adding a filter mode to NICAS so that it can be used in the SABER ProcessPerts application used for scale separation for Multi-Scale background errors
  • About to merge a PR removing the dual-resolution arguments from BUMP (let me know if you are using this feature & the merge can be delayed for you to adjust)
  • PR open for hybrid and ensemble B with continuous DA
  • PR for some HTLM speed up by pre computing atlas views. 3x faster updateIncTl, updateIncAd, and coefficient compute functions.

OBS (Hui)

IODA converter:

  • Nothing to report

UFO: 

  • Similar to most filters the where is a recognized option - PR: Adding where check in Specific Humidity variable transform #3919
  • NOAA, EMC and UKMO converge on convention for Snow - PR: Add snowArealDensity variable mapping #3925
  • Links for GEOS-19 ABI CRTM coefficients, no unit test uses them but they are available.
  • Tech Debt reduction - PR: Eliminate gnu compiler warning #3929, Add "exclusive" range endpoint parameters to two filters #3922

  • Experimenting Marine GMS17 and Aerosol Retro.
  • Working on option to remove GsIBEC repo out of spackstack and clone from develop instead of Tag.

GMAO (Ricardo Todling)

  • Minor changes to fv3-jedi and Saber Github
  • Diagonal files result of GSi does not match the Ioda Converter files.
