Short presentation on New CI system by Evan Parker:

- Unit/Integration Tests implemented; Functional Tests (in the future)

- New tests show up in PRs as JEDI integration/JEDI unit tests

- What to do when new tests fail, but old tests pass:

    - new and old systems are subtle different

    - reach out to Evan and open an issue/bug report

- Also new UKMet Office CI tests running on OOPS

   - Larger discussion is likely needed on center-specific tests requiring outside input and possibly blocking PRs

- R2D2 delete data functionality implemented to deal with disk usage issues on HPCs

   - Will implement scrubbers running via cron on HPCs and in the cloud soon

- Added lots of blue labels for partner agencies, please add/use the new labels for issues partners are working on

- Must add 2-Factor Authentication git hub before Oct 2nd or you will loose access to github repos

- Spack-Stack 1.5.0 Rollout: See https://github.com/JCSDA/spack-stack/issues/765

   - only start testing the new version once top level box for your platform is checked

   - See https://github.com/JCSDA-internal/jedi-docs/wiki/spack-stack (bottom) for instructions for early adopters on own equipment

- New IODA parallel reader is available for testing, check IODA issue/PR for instructions and/or contact Steve H

ALGO - Francois H

Work affecting model interfaces:

  - merged: oops no longer passes parameters to linear-model, affected few models

  - upcoming [details and timeline to be updated]: oops no longer passes parameters to state

- Reminder for atlas users: Fix to the output of increments in outer loops in the 4D algorithms (https://github.com/JCSDA-internal/oops/pull/2356)

- Fix for the 4DEnVar with VarBC; problems identified by Robert Nystrom and Anna, bugfix tested with fv3-jedi and mpas-jedi (https://github.com/JCSDA-internal/ioda/pull/1095 and associated PRs)

- Control-pert EDA developments merged, work from Kate's visit; some loose ends remain with compiling application on certain systems and workflow

- Starting to add coupled HofX workflow to ewok

- Working on the ability to compute forecast scores in skylab is progressing and we should be testing it soon.

- Adding 4D covariances to the static B in 4DEnVar (https://github.com/JCSDA-internal/oops/issues/2271)

- Testing atlas update for mpi communicator

- Looking to get data for testing EnVar for GFS

OBS - Francios V

- Part of JCSDA OBS Team (Lindsey and Greg) with staff from NRL and USAF are attending the DOD Cloud Verification Workshop in Boulder.

- Another part of the JCSDA OBS Team (Hui, Ben, Pat and Fabio) are participating in the VarBC code sprint with the MetOffice, NOAA and NASA. The objective is to add an observation grouping by record function. This is needed for variational bias control of observations other than radiances, for example grouping aircraft measurements by tail numbers.

- Ben updated the IODA converter for TROPICS observations to the new data release 3.0.4. Sam added a ctest for that converter. This is a work in collaboration with Min-Jeong Kim from NASA. The updated converter is backward compatible with previous releases of the data by NASA.

- The OBS Team is supporting NASA's work on PIBAL observations. Initially, included with radiosonde observations, NASA is writing a new PIBAL-specific UFO.

CRTM - Ben Johnson

- creating cdf output on tests

- adding new snowfall coefficient (showing great improvement)

- working with GMAO on active sensor integration

- working with greg thompson on reflectances

- working on spectral line databases

- working with dom/infra on new version of something

COMPO - Jerome

- working on TEMPO demonstration.

- Adding the TEMPO instrument proxy data

- Testing the 3DVar with a stretched grid c540r25 with GEOS-CF

SOCA - Travis

- QC filters for insitu marine T/S profiles have been developed and merged into Skylab

- MODIS L2 ocean color observations are being prepared by Hamideh and will be uploaded to R2D2. We want these in R2D2 this quarter, but since they are not used at the moment by skylab, they do not have to be a top priority for the infra team.

- About to start 4DEnVAR testing with regional soca

- Wrapping up initial phase of salinity filters

NOAA EMC

- Collaborating on code sprint

- end-to-end buffer with ioda

- properly re-centering

Met Office - David Simonin

- New Met Office CI (see infra for note on cetner-specific CIs)

- Finishing aircraft jobs

NRL - Nancy Baker

- Problem with obs on processor boundary

NASA GMAO - Ron Gelaro

- At end of testing

- linking pipeline to

- request update of 4DEnVar:

    - Ricardo and Anna working on fixing issues

ROMS - Hernan

  - Working (slowly) on 4DVar; require JEDI spack-stack to have UFS support

NCAR/MMM - Robert

Preparing MPAS- JEDI tutorial next week
