Your account isn't an administrator account. You’ll notice an application called Self Service with the NCAR/UCAR logo as an icon. This app is where you can install pre-approved applications, enable administrator privileges, and other useful things. We do our best to keep the offerings up-to-date but if you find something amiss, let us know!
You will also find a policy in Self Service named Enable Admin. This will grant you administrator access for 30 minutes at a time. You can use this to install applications that aren't available in Self Service. Please use this responsibly and please double check with help@ucar.edu if you are unsure of the source or security of some software you might need.
