wvally4 Visit

12:05 - 12:30pm

Sonic Angle = 85.8deg

Connected to ETI and noticed the temperature compensation was turned off.  Turned compensation on.

Cleaned off solar panels.

hiland3 Visit

11:16 - 11:36am

Mast height(sonic) = 68.9cm

Sonic Angle ?= 253.5deg.

Looked at Tsoil.  Seems to be reading high.  Noticed ground was snowy except over soil probes.  Everything seemed fine.  Will ask Joe to bury new probe.

Cleaned off solar panels and radiometers.  Covered in snow.

Battery Charging

I've put a battery charger in the Met Shed behind trailer.  The batteries are on the floor by the power panel and charger is on the desk.  There is currently six spare, charged batteries.

ABC2 Battery Swap

8:00 - 9:00am

Removed both batteries at site with new/charged ones.  Will be charging batteries in Met Shed behind trailer.

hiland3 Tsoil

The Tsoil at Hiland jumped ~10C at about 8:00 this morning. We will investigate.

ABC2 DSM battery

Went by ABC this morning to replace the DSM batteries. We had one fresh one. Chris is going back with another one.

River7 RAD

15:15 - 15:30

After going back to the base to work on the pyg.in, discovered we grabbed the wrong sensor! Spent time in the lab to get the test mote running and are now back at 7.

Tested pyg.in with the test mote. Did not work via I2C.  Did test on sensor with serial cable and it worked. Tried I2C again and it worked. Chris looked

at connector and there appeared to signs of corrosion.

Moved sensor back out to darkhorse and is working ok. The Vmote measurement is now working.

wvally4 Visit

1:00 - 1:20pm

Tried to talk to ETI using SS computer.  Didn't work, was not able to send commands to ETI. Did receive output message.

May need special comms software provided by ETI.

Sonic height = 75cm

Sonic boom angle = 80.3deg(Semmer)

11:30 - 11:50

Rad mote: tried reset button and cycled power, GPS and PYG.IN still bad. Pulled power shunt to GPS.

Mote appears to be using the local RTC now. PYG.IN still down.

Removed PYG.IN and turned on GPS.  Will diagnose PYG in base trlr.  Also not seeing Vrad.

Measuring the heights of sonics by measuring gnd to mast bolt.  All sonics at the 10m height are mounted at same position and will be added to this measurement.  I measured 68.6cm.

81.6degs for SS CSAT3 angle.

River7 Rad mote

vmote and pyg.in from River7 not coming in. Further investigations show the mote is having trouble with the GPS.

will investigate
